one is dense mass in relatively small volume plus if you ever happen to get stuck in the snow, you can toss some down under the wheels. Note, I don't recommend salt, the last thing you need is a torn bag and salt seeps everywhere and causes rust. For good measure, i'd wrap those sand bags in plastic garbage bags to guard against leaks. one on each side as close to the wheel well as possible will do the trick. Oh yeah, and make sure to have a full gas tank :-) (extra weight).
